Highlights from June's Book Club Meeting

We have a lot of awesome discussions at our meetings and tonight was no exception.  It was nice to have the author of Like Father, Like Son? stop by and discuss his book and the journey he went through in writing his book.  Most of our discussion was our experiences with our fathers and the men in our lives. It was eye-opening how we all can from different background in our home life and the experiences with our fathers.  Thanks to the hungry firefighters we didn't have any leftovers, I take it that they loved the treat after their weekly training.  According to the Fire Chief, it was suggested that this would be a welcomed weekly thing.  All in all the meeting was a hit. Thank you to all that have came and participated.  Also, a HUGE thank you to those from the Southrim Book Club who joined us and brought those delicious peanut butter bars.  We all would like to combine both clubs again. If anyone is interested in reading Like Father, Like Son? by Roger T. Muir and Greg D. Boyle, please visit www.fixthefathers.com to order your copy.   This is a wonderful book, it will make you laugh, cry, cheer and think.  This also would make a great gift for any man in your life.

For July, August and September will be off.  We have three books that we'll be reading then. You can read one or all of them. Our choices are Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell, Eat Cake by Jeanne Ray and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.  If you would like to read another book your are welcome too.  We'll be discussing the books at September's meeting.  If anyone has book that you would like the club to read, please let us know.  Email us at stocktonbookclubut@yahoo.com, tweet us on Twitter look for stocktonbook, write on our wall on Facebook look for the Stockton Book Club, call Jamie at 435-840-8183.
